Kingston Crown Court Open Day - Saturday 13 September 2008, 10.00 a.m. - 4.30 p.m.
An historic fleet of police cars will greet members of the public taking the opportunity to see behind the scenes of one of London's busiest courthouses on 13 September.
The court will be hosting an exciting programme of activities that includes:
- Crown and magistrates' court mock trials from 10.00 a.m. where visitors can be jurors or guess the sentence.
- The Children's Court - youngsters can dress up in wigs and gowns, have their photograph taken, join in on specially prepared sentencing exercises and put their parents in the dock.
- Behind the scenes guided tours leaving every 15 minutes, exploring the courtrooms, facilities for witnesses and technology such as video link hearings for defendants in custody.
- Local magistrates who volunteer to play a pivotal role on behalf of the local community will explain what's involved and how they take crucially important decisions about people's futures.
- The Cells Experience - visitors can visit a cell, sit in a prison van, look at grisly exhibits from the Wandsworth Prison Museum, speak to cells staff or even sample the food that is served up to prisoners!
Entry and activities are free of charge. No advance booking is required and refreshments will be served all day.

Summer Concert at the Royal Courts of Justice Wednesday 9 July 2008 1pm - 2pm
A concert by the choirs of St Mary St Pancras Church of England Primary School & St Aloysius Roman Catholic Junior School and the brass band of the Gospel Oak School will be given in the Quad at the Royal Courts of Justice ( or in the main hall if raining). All proceeds will go to the Royal Courts of Justice Citizen's Advice Bureau.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court Open Day Saturday 14 June 2008, 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
Hundreds of adults and children are expected to take advantage of a fascinating opportunity to pass through the doors at Waltham Forest Courthouse on 14 June to learn about how the justice system works.
Visitors can look forward to a lively programme of activities that includes:
behind the scenes tours, including the court rooms and prison cells
watch and take part in mock hearings - decide on innocence or guilt and sentences to fit the crime
an opportunity to meet magistrates and talk about the work they do
meet the police dogs, and
a chance to climb on board a prison vehicle and a fire engine.
There will be a gallery of display stands from local organisations and the court's justice partners including the Crown Prosecution Service, SERCO, London Fire Service, Police, Probation Service, Witness Service and Victim Support, Trading Standards, TV licensing and domestic violence charities.

Bexley Magistrates' Court Open Day
Saturday 10 May 2008 from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
What would it feel like to give evidence or judge whether someone is guilty? Hundreds of adults and children are being given a fascinating opportunity to pass through the doors at Bexley Courthouse on 10 May to learn about how the justice system works.
Visitors can look forward to a lively programme of activities that includes:
- behind the scenes tours, including the court rooms and prison cells
- watch and take part in mock hearings - decide on innocence or guilt and sentences to fit the crime
- an opportunity to meet magistrates and talk about the work they do
- a chance to climb on board and explore a prison vehicle, police response car and fire engine, and
- have your photograph taken in a judge's robes.
There will be a gallery of display stands from the court's justice partners including the Crown Prosecution Service, SERCO, TV Licensing, enforcement staff, Woolwich Crown Court, DVLA, London Fire Service, Police, Probation Service, Trading Standards, Witness Service and Victim Support, and Bexley Safer Neighbourhood Services.
With all the criminal justice agencies and other public services represented under one roof, the open day promises to be of interest to people of all ages.

Southwark Crown Court Open Day Saturday 10 May 2008
Come and see the Crown Court in action between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. Court staff will joined by criminal justice agencies including Prisoners' Friends and Family, the Probation Service, the City Drug Action Team and Trading Standards. Events taking place during the day include:
The court will be open to the public and will be holding various events including:
- Mock Trials
- Mock Plea and Sentences
- Question and Answer Sessions with a Judge
- 'The Old Bailey Experience' - Central Criminal Court staff will be taking over one of our courtrooms to present an insight into one of the world's most famous criminal courts.
- Fingerprinting - get fingerprinted by the Police and get to keep your print in a key ring or fridge magnet.
- Dress up as a barrister or judge and have your picture taken. Proceeds will go the NCH children's charity.
- Tours of the Cells (children will receive a certificate) and the chance to see inside an Escort VanQuizzes for children and adults.
- Raffle with the proceeds going to the NCH children's charity.
- Quizzes for children and adults.
